CATERING COOK
Lizzy’s Country Café & Catering is a thriving catering business operating from Thedford, with over 30 years experience in the food & beverage industry. We are excited to be growing our catering division and are seeking talented catering cooks.
Our Catering division has a warm country charm and a reputation for great food, catering to large and small events such as weddings, anniversaries, meetings, and other large events. Often, you are responsible for preparing large quantities of food of many different styles and types. For example, both entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts.
CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• At least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience in the preparation and cooking of food in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering, government, or private institution.
• Food Handlers Certificate and Smart Serve Ontario is required.
JOB DUTIES:
• Prepare large quantities of food to be served at weddings, conventions, meetings, and other large events or gatherings
• Prepare foods of many different types and styles, including entrees, side dishes, appetizers, salads, soups, desserts, and pastries
• Ensure prepared food is stored properly for delivery to the establishment where food is being catered
• Adhere to proper food handling and preparation best practices to prevent foodborne illness
• Maintains Lizzy’s standards for accuracy of recipes, and evaluates customer preferences, making menu adjustments as necessary ie) any food restrictions.
• Maintains the kitchen, kitchen equipment, and related areas in a safe and sanitary condition always.
• Strong, effective, and polite communication skills
• Conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner.
JOB SPECIFICS:
• Must be a food-service professional, team oriented, and dependable
• Schedule is based on the needs of Catering and changes based on the Catering contracts from week to week
• Schedule may include evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Wage dependent upon experience, skills, and abilities.

Description: Prepare and cook to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. Daily preparation and cleaning of food ie) vegetables and meat etc.
This position works different time shifts, depending on your work schedule, you may be assigned to work during weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Food Handlers Certificate is required and Smart Serve Ontario.

SERVERS
Lizzy’s Country Café has a position available for an energetic, self-motivated individual who loves working in a team environment. Our café has a warm country charm and a reputation for great food which means your position is busy but fun!
Position Description: takes orders, answers questions about the menu and food, sells the restaurant’s food and drinks, takes payment, communicates orders with the kitchen staff, seats customers, and helps with customer service and cleaning.
Working Conditions: This position works different time shifts, depending on your work schedule, you may be assigned to work during evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Smart Serve and Food Handlers Certificate is required.
